Description

During this five-day workshop, students will work with Katagami (Japanese stencil) and fabric paints. Traditionally made of rice paper, Katagami creates beautiful patterns and motifs to gracefully decorate silk and natural fabrics. Learn how to turn plain material into something special like a hand-painted Furoshiki (wrapping cloth) to present a gift. Explore global fashion and colorful textiles from far away places such as the Caribbean, Polynesian Islands and Japan. Some materials included.
