This not-to-be-missed lecture by Director Emeritus James A. Welu coincides with George Clooney's latest Hollywood film, The Monuments Men. Learn about the Worcester Art Museum's four staff members who served as Monuments Men, including George Stout who is played by Clooney in the film. This Power Point lecture will explore the major achievements of these men who helped to protect the art in Europe from the Nazis. You will also discover the war's impact on the Worcester Art Museum which took major steps to insure the safety of its own collection while presenting a wide range of programs to keep its audience abreast of the war in both Europe and the Pacific.
