Description

The ancient art collections at WAM have many stories to tell. Artist/educator, Ellen Donaldson, will lead this exploration of teaching with and through art by exploring the wealth of myths and tales depicted in the Museum's Central American, Asian, Greek, Roman and Indian galleries. Through directed observation, discussion, demonstrations and artmaking, learn how to infuse your language arts, history and art lessons with art history and art making. All disciplines and grade levels welcome; no prior experience in art or writing required. Credit students must design a group of lessons that incorporate artmaking and related stories in a curriculum unit.
