You are welcome to this 2 day workshop of learning and exploring the Arab world. In this workshop is to bring awareness, understanding and compassion for the Arabic language & culture.Description
Do you know how many Arab countries there are? Do you know where they are on a map? Have you tried some Arabic food? Do you know how many Arabic words there are in the English language? Would like to learn some phrases in Arabic? How about writing your name from right to left? All of that and more will be taught over a two day workshop.Overview
By the end of this 2 day workshop, students will be able to locate Arab countries on a map, differentiate between Arabs and other Muslim nationals, and exchange basic dialogues with Arab business owners in the area. They will also develop an understanding of the general history of the region and its culture. Participants will have an appreciation for Arabic arts, music, dance & food. Most importantly, students will be racially more tolerant to this group of people.Prerequisites
Open mindedness, curiosity and love of humanity.Texts and Materials
An extensive selection of books and maps will be provided for students to browse through and on the last day each will have a list with websites educational and commercial for their convenience.
