II. After a short survey of our favorites, we will create picture books of our own.
III. At the end of the day, students will be able to:
- identify what makes a good picture book
- understand the process of picture book creation, from developing an idea through drafting
- students will also have developed a story idea and worked at their own pace, with coaching, to develop picture book draft
IV. It would be great if students arrive with some story or character ideas, but not required. It would also be great if they arrived with warm chocolate chip cookies, but again, not required.
V. Each team should bring three of their favorite picture books to the workshop.
